Who We Are

The Sunnyfield is set in an 8 acre meadow, offering a low key campsite for tents, campervans & glamping for lovers of real camping and their families. Off grid, ecologically minded with an emphasis on bare-foot luxe, our family-run campsite is perfectly placed to offer you as much as you need.

We are tucked away in a truly special spot in the rolling hills and secret valleys of the North Kent Downs. There are beautiful places to explore and if you’re a keen walker or cyclist, it’s the perfect area to adventure with everything on your doorstep.

Proud to keep our meadows and campsite car free, guests can enjoy the large and spacious camping pitches with their very own campfire. We are one of the few campsites where each pitch has its own campfire pit where you can cook and enjoy the peace and quiet at the fireside, while you stargaze the light pollution free sky. Children can run free, and dogs are welcome.

On arrival, park up and pick up a wheelbarrow for your belongings, then wind your way to your spacious pitch cut amongst the wild grasses and buttercups. Put your feet up, light the fire, count the stars and listen to the owls. If you’re looking for relaxation in nature, you have found the perfect place.

The meadow has 26 pitches and offers plenty of space for all with a mixture of pitch sizes to accommodate most group sizes. We can pitch a limited amount of glamping bell tents, guests tents and campervans. This mix and matching availability is limited depending upon group size. For larger groups, we are happy for pitches to include your own tents, our glamping bell tents and campervans, as all pitches are pre-allocated depending upon party size.

Refreshingly understated facilities consist of very clean composting loos, cleverly-converted horse-box showers and there are standpipe taps and hand wash stations dotted around the site which supply easy access to running water and filtered water.

Relax by your own campfire and toast marshmallows…

Sunnyfield campsite is nestled in meadows in the North Kent Downs. We are a mere 20-minute drive from Folkestone and the Eurotunnel, and 30 minutes from Dover. If you enjoy historical places, then the beautiful cathedral city of Canterbury is just 20 minutes from us.

Our campsite caters for large groups, families and couples, whether you’re bringing your own tents, hiring one of our glamping bell tents or staying in your campervan. Each pitch is beautifully spacious in it’s own mown clearing surrounded by long grass and meadow flowers. The sky at night is free from light pollution, so it’s the perfect place to star gaze and relax by the camping campfire.

Many campsites do not allow campfires, but we want your stay with us to be special and memorable. Each camping campfire has its own grill so you can cook while you relax with a glass of wine or a beer.

We welcome friends to camp together, though do ask for noise to be reduced after 10pm at night to respect everyone’s peace and quiet.

We offer homemade wood fired pizzas on site on a Friday or Saturday evening at the weekends! We also have fresh home ground coffee at Sunny Bean Café. There is a nearby garage for basics and a well-stocked village shop in Stelling Minnis. The area also has plenty of wonderful farm shops, offering an abundance of fresh produce.

If you love camping campfires, love nature and wildlife, then Sunnyfield will not disappoint you!

Review:
“Really lovely site. We loved the facilities. We were 3 adults and were given a very large pitch in the far corner of the site which suited us well. Lots of space and privacy. It is a very family orientated campsite so expect children running in and out of your pitch in the day/evening, but that’s a reflection more on parents of fellow campers than the campsite itself. Lovely place would recommend.” Danielle, June 2022
